Tales of the Questor, volume 2

Tales of the Questor, volume 2 by Ralph E. Hayes Jr.

Spoilers for the first.

A few more adventures. We learn more about his sword Wildcard, it gets stolen and he has some comic adventures getting it back, and we learn how well he named it. And he gets some disapproval. But the real twist comes when we learn of a contract binding on him.

It involves the mist that magically borders their land, a garden party and a chess game, Quentyn's knowing something and panicking someone (even though he's actually mistaken), a bit commitment, and a hard swerve out to more adventure in the end.
