Story
Story: Style, Structure, Substance, and the Principles of Screenwriting by Robert McKee
An interesting book for the novel/short-story writer. Especially given the parts where he discusses what you can and can't do in a movie that you can do in a novel, where you've got to flip it.
Many useful ideas on story structure, genre, characterization. Only book I've read that actually delves into how to make your characters three dimensional.
I found the chapter on "Principles of Antagonism" rather weak, and sometimes he grinds personal axes in a way that did not add to it, but a useful book overall.
