"Going Postal” is a synonym for “going crazy and killing your co-workers” here in the round world.  In Discworld, a flat world supported by four elephants, it seems to mean “a job which makes you splatter yourself into a worrisome chalk pattern on the ground.”  Who would want a job like that?

Someone who was tricked into it.
