Review of Seth Grahame-Smith's Abraham Lincoln Vampire Hunter

Yesterday I finished reading Abraham Lincoln Vampire Hunter. And it was interesting to say the least. The plot: After witnessing the death of his mother, (following a long illness, but was later to be a vampire attack,) a young Abe vows to kill all the vampires in America.

This promise however was not easy to keep, for while in his twenties Abe ends up badly injured. This is where he meets Henry, a vampire with a gift of seeing the future possibilties in people. It's Henry who teaches Abe how to fight the undead and eventually helps him to become President.

Abe also meets Egar Allan Poe and a host of other historical notable people. It was a very entertaining read. Although there were a few things about Henry that bugged me. Namely that he kept 'giving' Abe the choice to have his sons turned after they passed away. One was 3 years old for Heaven's sake! Other then that sticking point I liked Henry very much. And yes I would read it again if given the chance.
