book recs?

Hello! I'm running out of books to read so I would like some recs that include at least one of the following:

- a boarding school setting
- characters that do lots of plotting and scheming
- a very large number of characters
- secret organisations (like the Illuminati, for example, but nothing too Dan Brown-ish, please)
- dealing with class differences
- magical realism
- covering up a murder
- or anything with good, deep characterization, really
