book recs please?

hi, ive been through the horror tags, and im looking for more book recommendations. i like books that are mainly ghost supernatural based, i can't stand vampires, werewolves, and zombies. so does anyone have any recommendations for those?

also, any books that deal with abuse or personal issues such as eating disorders, self harm, etc?

any books that are young adult romance, sort of- but not the typical guy meets girl they beat around the bush, finally end of together blah blah blah?

another thing: i want to start reading books that are "classic" as in, have a lot of support and are typically read in schools, but i don't wanna read boring ones. what are some books you've had to read in college english classes and you were like, "wow, this is awesome!"? i'd like to know of those. for example, im reading the wondrous life of oscar wao for class, and i'd definitely recommend it. EDIT: maybe i should work myself through the banned book list, but does anyone have any favorites of those?

and if any of these books are lengthy itd be even better. i hate buying books that are super short. seems like a waste you know?
