Struggling with a book, looking for opinions.

I am currently reading The Talisman by Stephen King & Peter Straub. I am on page 149.. I really want to like this book but it's SO freakin' boring so far. :( Although I have heard great things about it so I am looking for opinions. If you have read it, is it worth it?
