Looing for a recommendation

Back in May I was listening to NPR and heard a book show (it was on the Albany, NY NPR channel) and they were talking about a book on the lost colony of Roanoke. It sounded really interesting, but of course I can't remember what it was called. ETA: I think I found the book: A Kingdom Strange by James Horn.

So, does anyone have any recommendations on books about this time period? I recently read Mayflower: A Story of Courage, Community, and War and loved it. Of if you don't have any recommendations on that time period, how about a non-fiction (or good historical fiction - love those, too) on your favorite time period?

Thanks!
