Free Amazon Prime for students

Amazon is currently giving free 1 year memberships to Amazon Prime (free 2 day shipping, $3.99 overnight shipping) to current students with a .edu email address: http://www.amazon.com/gp/student/signup/info I'm not sure how long they're offering this (it doesn't say on the site).

Just thought i'd give fellow students the heads up on this in case you haven't heard about it yet. This is going to save me a ton on shipping textbooks this year!

Don't know if this applies to the student discount but those who purchase the regular prime had the option of giving it to other accounts at no extra charge. Sorry, I'm not sure how many-- I think four?

This is effectively a SPAM bot, slowly hitting every single community. The deal isn't that good, many other options already provide the same services, and they're trying to lock you in now as a long term customer base. The marketing idea is pretty simplistic and I could go on at length about how foolish the buy in for this is from a consumer standpoint.

I'm tired of seeing it.

lol I didn't even think of posting this on this community! Good thinking, bb.

It helped me so much. I ended up saving over $100.
