Proust?

Hello all

I am currently reading Swann's Way by Marcel Proust for my French class. We were only supposed to read the first part of Combray and I barely made it through that to be honest. I know it is monumental and something I have to read before I die, but I was wondering if it gets any better... I sort of need some encouragement :P.

Thank you in advance
