translation request?

Hello all!

The birds are singing, the sun is shining, finals are over... All signs point to summer vacation! Huzzah. Anyway. I am compiling a list of books to read and have started off with a reading of Gilgamesh. I'm currently reading a more recent translation: a verse narrative by Herbert Mason from 1970.

The version I am reading has some parts that seem to have high levels of psychological sophistication. I'm wondering if Mason, when translating, interpreted the psychoanalytical parts from the existing language and incorporated it in.

So, I am looking for a more literal translation. Like very literal. As close to word-to-word translation as possible. I would like to do side-by-side readings.

Any suggestions/recommendations?

Thanks for your help! Happy readings!
