What are some really good examples of world-building which you have particularly enjoyed in fantasy/sci-fi novels? In particular I'm looking for fictional worlds which blend high-fantasy with high sci-fi such as the fictional world depicted in the Star Wars films, however any recomendations for good world-building sources would also be welcome.
