The Graveyard Book: Neil Gaiman

WARNING: This summary and review of The Graveyard Book may not be well written and may contain some spoilers into this and another story. I'm not the best writer in the world but I really really wanted to come out of the woodwork and write a quick summary and review of The Graveyard Book. The summary is pretty much the inside cover and I really tried not to do spoilers but some people do consider the inside book sleeves spoilery.

Summary: The Graveyard Book is another novel by Neil Gaiman, the author of many books including Coraline and Stardust. Where Coraline focused on a little girl and her adventures into a world similar and different from her own, The Graveyard Book focuses on a boy, Nobody Owens, and his life in a graveyard.

Review: I just finished reading The Graveyard Book and really wanted to write a review. I have to say that I really enjoyed the book and hated the ending, not because the ending was badly written but because it was the ending of the book. The book was typical Gaiman all the way through, very descriptive and at times dark.

For example, the family of Nobody Owens, while he was still a baby, was killed at the beginning of the book. Though Nobody was supposed to be killed, he was not since he had managed to make his way out of the house and down to the street. After making his way out of the home, Nobody crawled to the graveyard on the hill, where he was taken in by the ghosts.

I also enjoyed the fact that the chapters focused on several different ages of Nobody Owens and his relationships with different "people" within the story. I highly recommend this book for people who are both Neil Gaiman and even for non Neil Gaiman people.
