This is a bit of a random question, but I'm kind of curious if this has happened to you.
Have you ever been mistaken for someone that works at a book store? Or have you ever been asked in-depth advice about what book to get?
When I was 14/15, I was actually mistaken for an employee at Chapters bookstore in a nearby town.

Like, two weekends ago I went Christmas shopping with a friend at a mall in a neighbouring town. I got her to let us stay an extra 15 minutes in the mall before leaving inside the bookstore - my favourite kind of shopping. We were going through the teen book section (which was a pain to find in such a small space...) and reading the backs of books and talking about them and comparing them to books we've actually read, whether or not we thought the book we picked up or not sounded worth buying or not, yadayada.
In a moment of silence, this woman that came up to the section moments before is looking at the shelves. She does a quick scan, only to turn and look at me.
"Excuse me, do you know where the Vampire Diaries books are?"
I don't work at this store, it's not even in my town, but I notice things like that, so I was able to point them out for her. They were only two shelves over and on the bottom-most shelf after all. She thanked me and picked up the 2nd book (The Fury & The Dark Reunion) and reads the back.
I go back into my conversation with my friend, but this woman cuts in and asks me if I've read the series before. I told her yes - it's been awhile and I've only read the first one, but I'm reading it again and find I still like it. She then proceeds to tell me that she's buying a gift for a 14/15 year old girl (niece I think) and this girl 'absolutely loved Twilight'. She then asked if I've read Twilight.
So I told her yes and kind of fibbed my thoughts about Twilight (I told her I thought is was an intriguing series, I enjoyed it, own 'em all... I don't like them as much anymore but I wasn't entirely lying because at one point I did think they were amazing and all, just not anymore).
She then asked how much I really liked the Vampire Diaries. I told her I enjoyed what I've read and can't wait to continue the series. She asked if I would recommend it for this daughter of hers and I told her if she's into the dark stuff like vampires and love and stuff - the Vampire Diaries is a darker series than Twilight but I'd still recommend it for a vampire-fanatic. She thanks me and walks away.
I start to get back into my conversation with my friend when the woman comes BACK...
"Is this the first book?"
I looked at what she had in her hand and saw it was the 2nd one (The Fury & The Dark Reunion). I told her it's the second and pointed out the first. She asked if there were any more of the series and I told her yes there - there's a third one (The Return: Nightfall)...
"But it's in hardcover so..."
"I'll just stick with these then."
She thanked me again and headed for the line to buy those two books.

Has anything like that ever happened to you?
It's kind of cool, but also kind of weird because I keep being taken for someone that works at the store, yet I'm still only a teenager. I guess it makes sense for adults shopping for teens, but like... I was with my friend, who was actually closer to the woman than I was. Why me, eh? =)
