I'm going through the obligatory vampire phase at the moment, but there are just so many titles and series to choose from! Any recommendations much appreciated.
I have already read Dracula, Let The Right One In, Salem's Lot and The Hunger, and I'm working my way through Tanya Huff's Blood series and the Vampire Academy books by Richelle Mead (love those!) I'm not so keen on Charlaine Harris or the Twilight books (shock horror!)
I'm in need of a recommendation for a good English translation of The Nun by Denis Diderot. Any takers?
I just finished The Book Thief by Markus Zusak and was wondering if there were any other books out that are narrated by death? Any other recommendations for books with unusual narrators would also be appreciated. Thanks!!
I'd like to read more plays, especially things written before 1950 (even though I wouldn't mind newer ones either). Which plays do you consider important and/or would you recommend? Which plays were influential? I'm already aware of/have read plays by Shakespeare, Chekhov, Wilde, Brecht, Euripides, Ibsen and Sophocles, amongst others, but apart from the former three I wouldn't mind specific recommendations for the others as well. I'd especially like to read some more French playwriters like Molière and Racine (I haven't read anything by either), but I'm not quite sure were to start there.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
