Greetings, fellow reading enthusiasts! I was wondering if perhaps a kind soul or two would recommend some good books for me. A few books I have really enjoyed are The Scarlet Letter (my favorite), Life of Pi, It's Kind of a Funny Story, Awakenings, Lord of the Flies, The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Nighttime, and A Heartbreaking Work of Staggering Genius. When I was much younger I really enjoyed a book called Letters from a Slave Girl, which is precisely as the titles describes it, and is a historical fiction story taking place in 1800's America. I know this is a wide array of genres and themes, but I seem to like historical fiction, certain types of fantasy, and books pertaining to psychology and mental disorders (be it purely fiction, biographical or strictly scientific). I am a seventeen year old girl living in New York, if that helps for any reason. However, I hate cliched stories about being a teenage girl and dealing with friend issues.

I hope that provides enough information for some good recommendations :]

-Rebecca

Edit: One more thing: Since I liked The Scarlet Letter so much, can anyone suggest some other Hawthorne books with which I may also become infatuated? Thanks!
