Templar History Recommendations?

Can anyone recommend any proper (something that atleast has a bibliography) history books about the Templar knights? My dad became interested in the subject after Da Vinci code but has only gotten one of those generic coffee table type history books on them, so I wanted to get him one for his birthday.
