Books about martial arts?

Hey, guys. I've been thinking recently that I'd really like to read more about martial arts, so I was wondering if people had any recommendations for good, readable ones, especially ones that deal with the ones that might not be as common as, say, tae kwon do, although books about the common ones would be good too. I'm interested in the history, evolution, and cultural context, not so much in "how to do X martial art." Thanks for any help you can give me!
