I am currently reading and enjoying Gone Tomorrow a novel by P.F. Kluge. I then fell out of love...it was a grammatical error that set my pleasure off course and turned it sour. It is on page 169. Part of the reason this one error in particularly drives me crazy is the main character is a writing professor and who was once a celebrated writer. If he was an accountant I don't think I would care as much.
It is just so jarring. I couldn't read any further. At least last night. I picked up again today. I know that editors are well just not into editing these days. Too busy trying to save money while making money.
The publishing industry needs a hard TWAAAACKKK! upside the head.
