Scottish History?

I've been reading--er, more like engrossed in--Diana Gabaldon's Outlander series. And what I'm finding particularly enjoyable is the backdrop of Scotland's history and the descriptions of the etiquette between clans and estates.

It makes me want to read more. Does anyone have any recommendations for fiction novels pertaining to the history of Scotland? Non-fiction is fine, too.

Thanks in advance!
