themes of loneliness, drug use, addiction, etc.

i am currently reading the delivery man by joe mcginniss jr., with less than zero by bret easton ellis next on my list. both books deal with young adults in their early to mid twenties becoming lost in drug abuse, sex, alcohol, etc. for some unknown reason, i have become incredibly interested in these kinds of themes - people trying to find themselves among the "lost generation," trying to figure out who they are in a world filled with nothing but addiction and excess.

does anyone have suggestions about other books that deal with this kind of stuff? ioh, and 've also read twelve and absolutely loved it.

thanks in advance!
