travel writing

the other day i saw a documentary where a guy in his 20s quit his good paying job and traveled the world for a year. then yesterday my dad gave me this book The Geography of Bliss by Eric Weiner so all this traveling stuff has been popping up the past few days and makes me want to read more. does anyone know if The Geography of Bliss is any good? What are some other good travel memoirs or just books about traveling in general? I don't really want them to be preachy or corny though, as Eat, Pray, Love sounds like it might be. So, any suggestions? THanks :)
