"that" book
I hear alot about kids that hated reading, then there was one book that got them hooked. My brother is 13 and hates it, but I think it would help him so much if he could enjoy it, schoolwise and everything. Literacy isn't his strong point. Like, he CAN read and write, he'll just do anything he can to get out of it.
Anyways, was anyone like this/know any one who was like this? What was the book that changed that? I've heard that the Harry Potters are good for that but with the movies, he's lost all incentive to actually read them! grrr.
I'd love any reccomendations for him (bearing in mind it doesn't have to be that deep or awe-inspiring. Just something entertaining that'll get him to FINISH the damn thing).
thanks!
