Recommendations

I've checked the tags and can't quite find what I'm looking for.

I would like recommendations for books that you think are "classics" and one must read in their lifetime. I'm pretty much looking for fantasy type books. Books directed for children are fine too! - for example Narnia or Alice in Wonderland.
