Odd Thomas - Dean Koontz

Odd Thomas is about a young guy called Odd who has a secret power, he can see dead people and things.  Only a few people know this about him and luckily one of them is the chief of police in Pico Mundo, the town that they live in.

Whilst I enjoyed the story and was shocked by the ending, it probably was obvious but by that point I was very engrossed in the characters that I wasn't thinking ahead, I did find that many things seemed unanswered.  Other than leading the police to where Odd knows a crime is going to happen, he doesn't seem to do much with his power, although if he is a seer type character then he isn't likely to have any other powers but I felt that it was something not fully discussed about what he actually could do.  Also I found that although his family were discussed I didn't really understand enough about them or their lives and how it effected Odd.

I am however intrigued enough to at least read the next book in the series to see how Odd progresses with life and hopefully find out more about him.
