Rec: Play, Modern, Classix

Okay I'm taking a year out before I go to university to study English Literature and History...

So I'm taking the year up to read like hell :]

I love my classics and I love my Shakespeare, but I'm trying to branch a lot. My current reading cycle is as follows;

Play
Modern
Classic
[Define all as you wish]

Ive been getting in a rut though, going for a Shakespeare (Othello, Comedy of Errors, Hamlet) play every time, reading a Bronte or Austen everytime (Pride and Prejudice, Persuasion), going for a mystery/crime newer novel (The Mesmerist, Shakespeare secret).

I want something different!

So, hit me with some recs of anything, but all three would be good!
Im making a list so thanks for any help!
