Sugestions, please

Hello -

I thought it'd be appropriate for my first post to this community to be one asking for recommendations. I am interested in learning about the history and basic beliefs/practices of Buddhists, Hindus, and Unitarian Universalists. Can someone suggest some introductory books for someone with very little knowledge about these faiths?
