Dino Sci-Fi Please?

It may be an odd request but I'm in the mood to read some sci-fi books featuring dinosaurs. Sentient dinosaurs or regular dinosaurs, getting mixed up with aliens, space ships, far away planets and the like.

Any recommendations for me and my sci-fi dinosaur craving?

Oh nostalgia - your post reminded me of one of a Star Trek universe novel I read years ago. Vaguely remember liking it, but it was a long time ago. Other than that, I cannot think of a single sci-fi novel that incorporates dinosaurs. Hope others post, I'd like to read that myself :)

Robert J. Sawyer's Far-Seer series might do:

The Lost World by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle (not to be confused with Michael Crichton's Jurrasic Park series, which also deals with dinosaurs).

The Endangered Camp, by Ann Leckie. (It's a short story, which appears in a couple of anthologies.)

Harry Harrison's trilogy of books starting with West of Eden. It's set in an alternate universe where the extinction event never happened, and sentient lizard people developed. Very good books.

I agree - this is a great trilogy. I also enjoy Anne McCaffrey's Dinosaur Planet and Dinosaur Planet survivors. Another favorite is Dinosaur Summer by Greg Bear. It's a great SF take on a circus!

"Into the Storm" by Taylor Anderson. "Anderson’s outstanding first novel combines alternate history and seafaring in a way that recalls S. M. Stirling’s splendid Island in the Sea of Time trilogy. Two U.S. four-stacker destroyers on the run from the Japanese in the spring of 1942 sail into a mysterious squall. The USS Walker emerges upon an alternate earth, where the dinosaurs were never wiped out. One savage sapient race, the Grik, has evolved from the raptors; another, from lemurs."

I'm about halfway thru the book, and enjoying it so far. Should be right up your alley (oop).
